CHS students in the UACCM concurrent Fundamentals of Biology course got hands-on experience analyzing real DNA samples 🧪 to investigate whether either of two children inherited Sickle Cell Disease. From lab techniques to careful analysis 🔬, they performed the same procedures used in genetics and CSI labs around the world 🌎—turning their classroom into a real-life science investigation!

🎃💥 Chemistry + Halloween = The ultimate science experiment!
Students in Ms. Bailey’s and Mr. Schwab’s classes learned about chemical reactions and compounds by turning pumpkins into explosive demonstrations of combustion. After reviewing lab safety and reaction theory, they mixed calcium carbide and water to produce acetylene gas — then watched as a controlled ignition blew the pumpkin’s face into place! 🔬🔥
