The CHS National Honor Society spent several hours on December 18 packing meal packs for the Conway Ministry Center. Students constructed 400 meal packs with supplies provided by their NHS chapter. The meal packs are used to meet food needs for Faulkner County citizens struggling with food insecurity. The Ministry Center helps 15,000+ individuals per year and the food packs are available to clients who visit CMC so that they will have an evening meal.
The CHS National Honor Society also spent the semester collecting plastic bags to donate to CMC. The CMC uses the plastic bags at their storehouse, where clients come to choose (shop) for needed supplies and food. Over the semester students collected and donated 12, 125 plastic bags.
One of the Four Pillars of the National Honor Society is Service. Service represents the choice of stepping outside oneself to meet the needs of others, fueled by an unwavering passion for a cause, heartfelt empathy for others, or driven by personal circumstances. It’s about performing selfless acts that transcend the ordinary, engendering transformative changes that resonate through our schools, ripple across our communities, and reverberate on a global scale. In the noble act of service, we sculpt a better world with our hands, our hearts, and our humanity.

🎉 Congratulations to Our HSK Stars! 🎉
We are thrilled to celebrate the incredible achievements of 15 students who passed the HSK Chinese Proficiency Test with flying colors! The HSK (Hànyǔ Shuǐpíng Kǎoshì) is an internationally recognized standardized test for Chinese language proficiency, and these dedicated students rose to the challenge on a Saturday morning at UCA, achieving a 100% passing rate.
✨ Special Highlights:
6 students scored an impressive 95% or above on the test.
A huge shoutout to Annemarie Horton, our amazing junior, who achieved a perfect 100%! As a non-heritage speaker, her accomplishment is truly extraordinary.
These students are now on track to apply for the Arkansas Seal of Biliteracy in the spring, demonstrating their hard work and linguistic skills.
To celebrate this milestone, Mrs. Chen hosted a joyful party featuring dumplings, snacks, and personalized fans. The top scorers were honored with fans inscribed with special messages and wishes in traditional calligraphy—a meaningful token of their success.
We couldn’t be prouder of their dedication and perseverance. Let’s give these outstanding students a big round of applause! 👏🎊
