ARKANSAS ASSET BUILDERS HOSTS FREE FAFSA HELP DAY TO GUIDE STUDENTS AND FAMILIES THROUGH FINANCIAL AID APPLICATION
Arkansas Asset Builders, committed to empowering Arkansans to improve their financial well-being, is hosting a free FAFSA Help Day to assist students and their families in completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The event will provide critical, expert guidance to ensure students access the maximum financial aid available for the 2026-2027 academic year.
The FAFSA is the gateway to federal grants, loans, and work-study funds, as well as many state and institutional financial aid programs. Completing the application accurately and on time is essential for paying for college, but the process can often be confusing. This event provides professional, one-on-one assistance at absolutely no cost.
FAFSA Help Day Event Details
Date: Saturday, October 25, 2025
Time: 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm
Location: Faulkner County Library (1900 Tyler Street, Conway, AR 72032)
Assistance Provided: Financial aid professionals from local colleges and universities will be on-site to help students and parents navigate the FAFSA, determine contributor status, and accurately complete the application.
"The FAFSA is more critical than ever due to recent application changes, and filing early is key to securing available funds," said Joyia Yorgey, Executive Director of Arkansas Asset Builders. "We are dedicated to removing the financial and logistical barriers that prevent students from accessing financial resources for higher education. Our FAFSA Help Day ensures families have the expert support needed to complete this vital step toward achieving their educational and financial goals."
To get the most out of the event, students and parents should attend together. However, help is still available if attending individually. Attendees should bring necessary documents for the FAFSA, including: student and parent social security numbers, studentaid.gov login credentials, and information about 2024 tax return(s), any untaxed income received in 2024, and current bank and investment account balances. Appointments are highly recommended to guarantee personalized assistance.

In groups of 4–7, students tossed the globes and recorded whether their fingers landed on water or land. Then the whole class joined in for even more trials! 🌍

On Tuesday, Oct. 7, our Stats students put their linear regression skills to the test in a hilarious hands-on activity! Students gathered bivariate data by timing how long it took different group sizes to say tricky tongue twisters — and ended the day with the entire class joining in together.
There were lots of laughs, smiles, and data points as they learned how to analyze relationships between variables in a fun, memorable way.
