Young Feminists Alliance
Young Feminists Alliance. Young Feminists Alliance, YFA, had the privilege of volunteering with Conway Cradle Care this October! YFA members learned about the mission of this local nonprofit organization and their goal to help young parents overcome the many obstacles that come with raising a child while also trying to receive an education. After this, members got to organize recent donations and prepare the donation closet for the upcoming cooler months. CCC, thank you for educating us and allowing us the opportunity to take some work off of your plate! YFA also had the privilege of trick or treating with the residents of Superior Health and Rehab.
The Choosing to Excel Youth Leadership Team visited Conway Junior High School students in their Career Development classes. Students were provided an opportunity to explore multiple career pathways while using the oculus and they engaged in an activity that allowed them to take care of their financial responsibilities as an adult with a specific salary, and family matter. This exercise fostered an understanding of financial literacy, healthy decision-making, and establishing boundaries.

Beta Club
CHS Beta club is an honors organization that thrives on the four pillars of community service, character, leadership and achievement. Our students collaborate to make a meaningful difference in the community and are always thinking of new ways to highlight their belief that leadership is done through service to others.
Congratulations to CHS juniors Mustfa Zia and Wren Welky for being awarded the National Speech & Debate Association's Speaking and Service Award! This award is given annually and recognizes students, who are members of the NSDA Honor Society, who go above and beyond in their service to their teams, schools, and communities. Students receive this award when they earn 200 service points in a given year, the maximum number possible in a school year in our Honor Society. From more than 130,000 members, fewer than 717 students received this recognition - only 10 from Arkansas. The National Speech & Debate Association’s Honor Society recognizes students for participation in speech and debate activities. Students earn distinction through speech and debate competition, as well as community service, public speaking, and leadership activities.

Congratulations to CHS Speech & Debate Team coach, Mrs. Casey Griffith, for being awarded the National Speech & Debate Association’s 2nd Diamond Award. Since 1925, the National Speech & Debate Association has been recognizing student and coach achievements in speech and debate. Coaches earn points in the national honorary through team participation, student achievement, public service, and leadership work. This is one of the highest honors a coach can achieve as a part of the National Speech & Debate Association. To earn a Diamond Award, a coach must be a member of the National Speech & Debate Association for at least five years. Coaches earn additional awards with more points earned in the Honor Society. Mrs. Griffith was awarded her 1st Diamond Award in 2019, and has also been awarded the Diamond Key Award, the Donus D. Roberts Quad Ruby Coaching Award, and has reached the Premier Distinction degree level. “Our Diamond Award winners provide access to the life changing benefits of speech and debate for thousands of students,” said National Speech & Debate Executive Director J. Scott Wunn. “We are proud to recognize these educators for their service, and thank them for their hard work.” Mrs. Griffith is in her 13th year at Conway High School where she teaches Debate I, II & III, Forensics I, II & III, and UCA Principles of Communication. Her team competes on the state and national levels, having traveled all over Arkansas, along with Georgia, Illinois, Pennsylvania, Mississippi, Louisiana, Iowa, and Kentucky. They have competed against teams from Canada, South Korea, and the Northern Mariana Islands.
