✨ Black History Spotlight ✨ For 30 years, Mr. Franklin has been a guiding force in education, but his journey started in law enforcement as a deputy and probation officer. Seeing young lives impacted by the system, he prayed for an opportunity to make a difference—and when the door to education opened, he walked through without hesitation. Though he once dreamed of an NFL career, his true calling has been mentorship and positive change. Whether it’s receiving heartfelt messages from former students, leading by example, or even tackling the unexpected—he’s always up for the challenge. One moment he’ll never forget? A call came in about a fight on the second floor, and he rushed in ready to break it up—only to find two chickens running wild instead. Standing there, out of breath, with a chicken in each hand, all he could do was laugh along with the students. 🐔😂 His biggest inspirations? His mother, Barbara Jean Franklin, and his wife, Sheila Franklin, who encouraged him to take this path. His wisdom for students? 💡 "If you do what’s hard now, it may not get easier, but it will get easier to do what’s harder later."
