Carl Stuart FBLA Spreads Holiday Cheer with Craft Kits for Arkansas Children’s Hospital
This year, the Carl Stuart Mid-Level FBLA celebrated the season of giving in a truly meaningful way! To kick off our winter break, we combined a festive holiday party with a community service project: packing craft kits for the children at Arkansas Children’s Hospital (ACH).
Thanks to the generosity and support of our amazing community, we were able to assemble 803 craft kits for children receiving services at ACH. These kits will bring joy and creativity to kids facing medical challenges, giving them a much-needed distraction and an opportunity to create something special.
We want to extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who contributed supplies, donated their time, or supported our efforts in any way. This event was a success because of YOU, and it was a wonderful reminder of how much good we can accomplish when we work together.
Thank you for helping us make a difference. From all of us at Carl Stuart FBLA, we wish you a joyful holiday season and a happy New Year!

At the school board luncheon held last Friday, the student council shared many of the exciting initiatives underway. They discussed their goals for the year, their ongoing book study of The 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens, and their leadership roles in organizing key events such as Red Ribbon Week, the Winter Dance, the Veterans Day Assembly, Pep Rallies, and helping with the Fall Festival.
Additionally, the D3 and G3 clubs highlighted their mission to bring joy to others. They shared examples of their efforts, such as helping with the Fall Festival and selling peppermints to raise money for Christmas gifts for families in need.
Mr. Hendricks praised the outstanding work of Mrs. Sellers and Ms. Calhoun with the new coding class, which has generated incredible excitement among the students. Beyond the classroom, they’ve also launched a Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) chapter that has already made a significant impact. The group has organized donations to create Craft Kits for Arkansas Children’s Hospital and initiated the sale of “Believer Bells”—necklaces engraved with the word “Believe.” These necklaces serve as powerful symbols, encouraging belief in ourselves, our dreams, and the strength of our community. These initiatives showcase the transformative impact of these programs on our school, fostering creativity, leadership, and a positive mindset.

Mrs. Pillow's cooking club had the exciting opportunity to prepare the food for the school board luncheon on Friday. The menu featured poppyseed chicken, green beans, corn, salad, rolls, a "Death by Chocolate" trifle, and a festive holiday punch with an ice ring.
Reflecting on the semester, Mrs. Pillow shared how much her students have grown. They learned valuable skills like converting recipes for large quantities, planning menus, slicing, chopping, mixing, whipping, baking, and, just as importantly, cleaning up afterward.
Through her career awareness class, Mrs. Pillow has also strengthened partnerships within the community. Her students visited the Conway Career Center at the high school, where they connected with Ms. Tell, the culinary arts teacher. In a collaborative effort, Mrs. Tell sent her senior pro serve students to help supervise the cooking club last week, providing mentorship and hands-on guidance.
This collaborative experience not only enhanced the students' cooking skills, but also provided valuable insights into culinary career paths.
