The Veterans Day Assembly took place on Friday, November 10, and it was a special event honoring our Veterans. The school's band, orchestra, and choir all performed during the assembly, adding a meaningful touch to the event.
The assembly also highlighted the importance of family and pride in service. Students had the opportunity to introduce their family members who had served in the military and share which branch they belonged to. This created a personal connection and allowed the student body to better understand the sacrifices made by these individuals.
The Student Council played a significant role in hosting a reception for both the veterans and their family members in the media center. This gathering provided a chance for everyone to connect and appreciate each other's company. Additionally, the Student Council shared valuable information about each branch of service, educating the attendees about the different roles within the military.
Guest speakers were Veterans Paul Tull, Jason Tooke, Angela Campagna, and Dr. Phillip Fletcher. They spoke about the importance of Veterans Day and the significance of joining the military. The Veterans emphasized how being part of the military helps individuals find their sense of belonging and purpose. They also touched upon the sacrifices that service members make, but highlighted how the military gives back in numerous ways.
During the assembly, the veterans had the privilege of sitting beside their students. This served as a reminder of the importance of supporting and acknowledging the sacrifices made by these servicemen and servicewomen.

Sixth grade students at CSMS studied star constellations and their origins in order to create a work of art. Each student designed their own constellation. For stars, students created circuits on the back of their art using copper tape, batteries, and LED lights. This project connected art across multiple disciplines. Mr. Noland was awarded a Conway Public Schools Foundation Classroom Impact Grant at the beginning of the school year.
