Did you know that playing with LEGOs or other building toys helps children develop problem-solving skills, creativity, fine motor skills, and spatial awareness? Building can also foster resilience, increase confidence, and even reduce stress! Get the blocks out this weekend and try some or all of these ideas for building. Your teachers would love to see pics of some of your creations in the comments!

ReadBrightly.com recommends these "Legitimately Funny Books to Read With Your Kids." The Book With No Pictures is a favorite around Vann and all of our students have heard that one read aloud, most recently by Ms. Etter and Mr. Coatney. Have you read (and laughed) at any of the others?

🗣️ Oral language 🗣️ is the process of learning how to communicate ideas through spoken words. Parents, teachers, and other adults can support oral language development by encouraging children to engage in purposeful conversations. One way to do this is by telling jokes and explaining the play on words and background information that students may not yet understand. (For example: "A school is where you go to learn, but a school is also what we call a group of fish!") Here are a few to get you started! 😂🤣😂🤣
