Did you know that playing with LEGOs or other building toys helps children develop problem-solving skills, creativity, fine motor skills, and spatial awareness? Building can also foster resilience, increase confidence, and even reduce stress! Get the blocks out this weekend and try some or all of these ideas for building. Your teachers would love to see pics of some of your creations in the comments!

One of the best ways to keep learning happening during the summer is to READ! Head to the library or bookstore and find some books! You just might see some of our Vann staff's favorites!
There are so many ways to keep your students' math skills sharp while going about your regular summer routine. A little extra practice in June and July will make a BIG difference when we return to school in August!
Way Back Wednesday...featuring the Vann Maker Club! Students involved in our newest school club learned to sew and made pillows! What a fantastic skill to take with you throughout your life!

🗣️ Oral language 🗣️ is the process of learning how to communicate ideas through spoken words. Parents, teachers, and other adults can support oral language development by encouraging children to engage in purposeful conversations. One way to do this is by telling jokes and explaining the play on words and background information that students may not yet understand. (For example: "A school is where you go to learn, but a school is also what we call a group of fish!") Here are a few to get you started! 😂🤣😂🤣

As we transition from one school year to another, we say goodbye to some beloved and dedicated teachers who will be moving on to new adventures. Whether they've invested one year or many, each has made an impact on our school family that will last for a lifetime. Please help us wish these Vann team members a fond farewell! We will miss you!
