Dear Parents and Guardians,
In our ongoing commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of our students, we conduct regular safety drills throughout the school year. These exercises are crucial in preparing both our students and staff to respond effectively in the event of an emergency. We want to inform you about an important reunification drill scheduled for November 22nd at Ruth Doyle. This drill will help us practice efficient procedures for transporting our students to the reunification site, where students will be reunited with their family members during an emergency situation. This drill is dedicated to transporting ONLY! Students will be released at the normal time and place on this date. We believe that thorough preparation is essential for safeguarding our children. Students will be getting permission slips that need to be signed and returned including the option to opt out of this drill. Key Details: Date: November 22nd Time: 8:30 AM - 10:30 AM If you have any questions or concerns about this drill, please feel free to reach out. We appreciate your support and cooperation in helping us maintain a safe school community. Thank you!
Best regards,
Eric King

Exciting News for Our Middle Schools! We will begin implementing Yondr pouches on November 4, 2024. Students will receive their own Yondr pouch to take home on that morning.
What does this mean for students? To create a focused and distraction-free environment, all cell phones, smart watches, and other wearable tech will be secured in these special bags during school hours. Students are required to bring their Yondr pouches every morning and place their devices inside before entering the school. The bags will remain with them, but all devices must be turned off during school hours. At the end of the day, students will unlock their Yondr pouches as they exit the school and will keep their pouches with them. This initiative will help foster learning, connection, and engagement—without the screens! Students will be able to access their devices at the conclusion of the school day.
Important Reminder: Violating district policy regarding the possession of cell phones can lead to disciplinary action. Students who tamper with the Yondr pouch, repeatedly forget to bring their pouch, damage or take another student's Yondr pouch, or use their phone without authorization during the school day may face consequences ranging from warnings and phone confiscation to detentions, Saturday school, or in-school suspension. Additionally, restitution may be required to replace a Yondr pouch.
We will also be participating in a survey of students as part of a program supported by Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders and the Office of Education Policy. This survey aims to gather valuable insights into the effectiveness of our new policies and the overall school experience. Consent forms will be sent home soon, so please return them to your student's third period teacher by November 8, 2024.
Let’s work together to enhance our students’ educational experience!

Students in grades 6 and 7 have the NYC presentation in their Schoology Counseling group folder. Contact Mrs. Rogers for more information @rogersa@conwayschools.info.
