By focusing on control, coordination, and technique, our little artists are building the foundation they'll soon use to let their creativity shine in the Right Brain Classroom! 🎨💡

Our little engineers in the Right Brain Classroom are putting their creativity and teamwork to the test! Using blocks, imagination, and plenty of collaboration, they built roads for their vehicles — complete with twists, turns, and teamwork at every corner! 🛣️✨

In our Left Brain classrooms, our little learners are hard at work during work cycle time—choosing their own activities, staying focused, and working independently. 💪📝
From puzzles and number work to language games and fine motor tasks, each child is fully engaged in activities that build concentration, logic, and problem-solving skills. 🙌

Our classrooms are full of energy as our kiddos explore through the different stations—building, imagining, exploring, and most importantly... playing together! 💬🧩🖌️
In our Right Brain classrooms, we focus on fueling creativity, big feelings, and connection. Whether they are making art or building tall towers, the kids are learning in the most natural way—through play!

Last year, our students watched in wonder as Mrs. Heath and Mrs. Carter incubated and hatched baby chicks right here in our school.
This year, two of those very chicks—now all grown up—went to the Faulkner County Fair with Mrs. Heath’s daughter… and placed! 🏆🎡
🥇 Our proud black rooster won 1st place, and
🥉 Our other feathered friend brought home 3rd place!
What a fun and exciting way to see the results of hands-on learning come to life! We are so proud of our extended preschool family (feathers and all). 🐥❤️

We believe even the smallest hands can make a big difference.
Our students and staff created a Wall of Hope to show love and support for children and families affected by childhood cancer. 💫
Each child had the opportunity to write or draw encouraging words and uplifting pictures on gold stars and hearts. These heartfelt messages are displayed in our front lobby, creating a beautiful, golden reminder of kindness, strength, and hope.

Each day, we come together as a School Family to build connection, community, and care.
❤️ During our Wish Well time, students send love and kind thoughts to friends who may be absent or needing a little extra support.
⭐️ We say the Pledge of Allegiance, learning about unity and respect.
🎶 And through singing together, we strengthen bonds, practice self-regulation, and set a joyful tone for the day ahead.
These meaningful moments nurture the Emotional and Social Brain, laying the foundation for empathy, cooperation, and lifelong learning.

Our little learners have been busy building their focus, precision, and problem-solving skills!
🔍 Using control to check their work
🥣 Carefully practicing pouring with steady hands and concentration
🔺🔵 Sorting shapes by color, size, and type—boosting logic and categorization!
Each of these activities strengthens the Left Brain by encouraging critical thinking, self-correction, and spatial awareness. We love watching our students grow their brains through purposeful play!

Yesterday during our PLC time, our amazing Right Brain paraprofessionals took some time to dye rice for our sensory stations! 🎨✨
These colorful rice bins are more than just fun—they help our little learners explore textures, colors, and creativity while building fine motor skills and supporting self-regulation.
We’re so excited to see our students dive into this vibrant sensory experience!

On Friday, our school community came together in recognition of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. By wearing gold/yellow, we joined in support of the children and families affected by childhood cancer and stood united in raising awareness for this important cause.

🎨 Art + Executive Functioning = Creative Growth! 🧠✨
Our little artists have been diving into the beautiful world of watercolor painting in Art Appreciation! 🖌️💧
But it’s not just about making beautiful art — they’re also practicing important executive functioning skills, like:
🟡 Mixing colors carefully (no wasting paint!)
🔵 Blending colors with intention
🟢 Taking care of their art tools responsibly
It’s amazing to see their creativity grow right alongside their self-control, planning, and problem-solving skills.

Join us in showing support for Childhood Cancer Awareness by going ALL OUT in yellow or gold tomorrow! 🎗️💛
Let’s fill our school with love, hope, and golden spirit as we stand with the brave children and families affected by childhood cancer. Every sparkle of gold makes a difference! 🌟
We’re excited to welcome Mr. Keith and Mr. Caelyn, our two new custodians, to the Sallie Cone team! 🧹✨
Their hard work and dedication help create a clean, safe, and welcoming environment where our little learners can grow, play, and explore every day. We’re so grateful to have them as part of our school community!

Our Left Brain Classrooms are off to a strong start as students dive into structured routines and focused learning! They’ve been mastering how to use their mats, explore tray activities with purpose, and follow station procedures — all essential steps in building self-regulation, attention, and critical thinking skills.

Our Right Brain classrooms are full of imagination, teamwork, and joy as students explore and play together! Through creative play and meaningful interactions, they are building essential skills like emotional awareness, social connection, and flexible thinking — all while having a great time.

🚗 Morning Drop-Off Reminder ☀️
Just a quick reminder for morning drop-off:
Please make sure to park your car in a parking spot before getting your child out and checking them in. This helps us keep traffic flowing smoothly and ensures everyone's safety.
Thank you for your cooperation and for helping our mornings run safely and efficiently!

💛 A Journey of Courage, Love, and Healing 💛
Today, we’re sharing a very special story from one of our own. One of our sweet students has shown incredible strength while bravely walking through a cancer journey.
Nova was diagnosed with stage 4 neuroblastoma cancer at the tender age of 9 months old in 2022. She underwent 6 cycles of chemotherapy, 2 major surgeries, 21 cycles of radiation, and 5 rounds of immunotherapy. We are beyond grateful that she is now cancer free, going on 3 years in remission, and continuing her journey on a clinical trial.
In honor of this incredible journey — and in recognition of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month — we invite all our students, staff, and families to wear yellow or gold on Friday, September 12th as a show of support and solidarity for all children and families affected by childhood cancer. 🎗️

🎗️ September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month 🎗️
On Friday, September 12th, we’re standing in solidarity with the brave children fighting cancer. 💛 Let’s show our support loud and proud by wearing YELLOW or GOLD from head to toe!
✨ Go all out — shirts, pants, shoes, hats, jewelry — the more gold or yellow, the better!
Together, we can shine a light on childhood cancer and the warriors who inspire us every day. 💪💛
