🌟 Meet Mrs. Joni Murray – Our New 4th Grade Teacher! 🌟 We are so excited to welcome Mrs. Joni Murray to the WCE family! Joni has been married to her husband, Cameron, for 10 years, and they have two daughters—Claire (almost 8, starting 2nd grade at WCE) and Carlee Beth (5, starting Kindergarten this year!)—plus two sweet fur babies. 🐾 Mrs. Murray graduated from UCA in 2015 with a degree in elementary and special education. She has taught K–2 literacy resource, first grade, and preschool. After stepping out of the classroom for five years to be home with her youngest, she’s returning to the classroom with excitement and passion. ✨ “I am so excited to be back in the classroom and continue my passion for learning and advocating for children!” – Mrs. Murray Help us give Mrs. Murray a warm Woodrow Cummins welcome!

📣 Woodrow Cummins OPEN HOUSE 📣

We can’t wait to see our Little Cats on Thursday, August 14 from 5-7PM for Open House!

📝 Orientation Schedule:
• Kindergarten: 5:00–5:30 PM (WCE Cafeteria) Families will all begin in the cafeteria and move to visit each K classroom after orientation.
• 1st–2nd Grade: 6:00–6:30 PM (WCE Cafeteria)
• 3rd–4th Grade: 6:30–7:00 PM (WCE Cafeteria)

👩‍🏫 1st–4th grade teachers will be in their classrooms all evening — parents can stop by at their convenience, but please attend your scheduled orientation time in the cafeteria.

🖍️ You may bring school supplies Thursday evening so you don’t have to carry them in on the first day.

⭐ Kindergarten should bring supplies after Kinder Camp when they find out who their teacher will be.

As a reminder, CPSD students are expected to follow our “Bell to Bell, No Cell” expectations during the school day.

📌 A student is not considered to be in possession of a personal electronic device if:

  • It’s stored in their bag (and not accessed),

  • It’s stored in a locker (and not accessed), or

  • It’s stored in their vehicle (and not accessed) — except as permitted by law.

📲 Follow-up for Infractions:

  • 1️⃣ First Violation: Device Confiscation, Warning, Parent Contact, Student Pick-Up

  • 2️⃣ Second Violation: Device Confiscation, Parent Contact, Detention, Parent Pick-Up

  • 3️⃣ Third Violation: Device Confiscation, Parent Meeting, Saturday School/In-School Suspension, Parent Pick-Up

SPECIAL RECORDS TO BE DESTROYED On July 7, 2025, the Conway Public School District will destroy Special Education records of students who graduated, moved or were dismissed from Special Education services in the district between January 1, 2019 and June 30, 2019. This process is carried out in compliance with federal and state laws. Students, parents and/or guardians may obtain any data from folders prior to July 7, 2024, by calling the Special Education office at (501) 450-6634, extension 0303 or emailing at records@conwayschools.info.
