HUGE congratulations to our 2026–2027 Teacher of the Year, Mrs. Adams, and our 2026–2027 Employee of the Year, Nurse Beth! We are incredibly proud to have these two outstanding educators represent Woodrow Cummins Elementary. Mrs. Adams consistently demonstrates excellence in instruction, amazing dedication to her students, and a heart for serving others. Nurse Beth goes above and beyond every single day to care for our students and staff with compassion, professionalism, and grace. Both of these women embody the spirit, commitment, and love that make our school such a special place. We are blessed to work alongside them and even more excited for them to represent our Wampus Cat family this year! We are excited to celebrate Read Across America Week (March 2–6) at WCE! 🎉

Read Across America is a nationwide celebration that encourages a love of reading in children of all ages. Schools across the country spend the week promoting literacy, celebrating books, and inspiring students to become lifelong readers. Reading helps build imagination, confidence, vocabulary, and opens the door to endless possibilities!

Here’s how we’re celebrating each day:

📖 Monday (March 2) – “Dream Big, Read BIGGER”
Wear your pajamas

🌺 Tuesday (March 3) – “Say Aloha to a Good Book”
Dress in your best Hawaiian or beach attire

🏈 Wednesday (March 4) – “Getcha Head in a Good Book”
Wear a team jersey or sports shirt

👔 Thursday (March 5) – “Smart is Stylish”
Dress your best to show that readers are leaders! (Class Pictures Day!)
