🌟 Wampus Cat Wednesday: Where Are They Now? 🌟 This week, we’re excited to feature Maegan Langley, Class of 2015! Maegan now lives in Austin, TX, and is working in the tech industry. She married her high school sweetheart, whom she met at Conway High, and he’s finishing up his computer science degree. Favorite CPSD Memories: Maegan loved her time in band and varsity tennis, both of which taught her teamwork and discipline. One personal highlight? Meeting her now-husband at Conway High! Favorite Teacher: Mrs. Francis left a lasting impression on Maegan during her school years. Advice for Students: “Focus in class and soak up what you can. We’re thrilled to announce that Ellen Smith Elementary and Conway High School have been recognized with the 2025 Arkansas Best Education-Based School Garden Awards by the Arkansas Department of Agriculture! 🌿 A huge congratulations to Ryan Raup, fourth-grade teacher at Ellen Smith Elementary, for leading the way and being awarded 2025 Arkansas Best Education-Based School Garden. 🥇🌱 And a special shout-out to Leslee Tell and the team at Conway High School for earning Best Overall School Garden! 🌻🏆 Thank you to our incredible teachers, students, and community partners who have put in so much heart and effort to make these gardens a success. Shanarra currently works at Pediatrics Plus, helping empower children through occupational, physical, speech, and ABA therapy. She’s passionate about making a positive impact on kids with developmental delays. Reflecting on her time at CPSD, Shanarra appreciates the real-world skills she gained, which were unique compared to other schools. A highlight for her was making lifelong friends and learning skills that set her up for success. Favorite Teacher: Mrs. Cindy Brown was Shanarra’s favorite, leaving a lasting impression. To celebrate the grand opening of Burlington's new store in Conway, AR, Burlington and AdoptAClassroom.org have generously donated $5,000 to our very own Preston and Florence Mattison Elementary School. Superintendent Dr. Jeff Collum and Principal Shannon Black were honored to attend the ribbon-cutting ceremony, where they received the donation on behalf of the school. This support will go a long way in providing valuable resources for our students and teachers. After graduating from Conway High, Amy attended UCA, where she earned a degree in Elementary Education. She now teaches 4th grade at Ellen Smith Elementary—the same school she attended as a child! In a full-circle moment, Amy even works alongside her 2nd-grade teacher. Her children now attend Ellen Smith as well, making the school a special part of her family’s history. They are a family of Wampus Cats through and through! Favorite CPSD Teacher: Mrs. Moore at Ellen Smith and Mr. Oliver at Bob Courtway stand out as Amy’s favorite teachers.
