🚒Our Conway Area Career Center's EMT students successfully completed auto extrication with the help of Conway Fire Department and Steve's Auto! During extrication, students learn techniques and tool usage on how to quickly and safely remove patients from vehicles involved in collisions, rollovers, and various types of impact. Extrication is the final component of the EMT class for National and State certification. Other components of the class are clinical hours on board an ambulance and inside an ER, as well as a grade in course work of at least an 80%. Back-to-back champions at the All-State Competition! 🎉 Ellie Feng, Thomas Coolidge, and Hudston Ledbetter shine bright, proving their coding prowess and teamwork. 💻 #CodingChamps Conway High School's achievement of winning the All-State Coding Competition for the third time in eight years is a remarkable milestone. 🌟Mrs. Susan Henderson - Ellen Smith Elementary - is a Core Value Champion!🏆 Mrs. Henderson is the media specialist at Ellen Smith Elementary. She puts 110% into everything she does. 🌟Mrs. Kait Smith - Conway High School - is a Core Value Champion!🏆 Mrs. Smith is Conway High School’s ELL Designee and ELL Biology Teacher. It is hard to put into words all of the fantastic things that Mrs. Smith does. She is a passionate advocate of students and their families. She has personally delivered Thanksgiving meals, Christmas gifts, blankets, and food during breaks from school. She is a problem solver, a team player, and leader. She works with teachers of our sheltered classes and leads PD that all teachers could benefit from. Our ELL students LOVE her and respect her. She has built lasting relationships with them and works tirelessly to make their loves and their education better. Many will graduate simply because she BELIEVED in them and wouldn't let them quit. She puts her students first EVERY. DAY. It's a beautiful and inspiring thing to see our students succeed and she plays a pivotal and vital role in that process. Mrs. Smith! 🌟Mr. Gerardo Davila - Courtway Middle School - is a Core Value Champion!🏆 Mr. Davila is Courtway Middle School’s Registrar/Bookkeeper. He seeks ways to help our students, staff, and families in any way he can. He is committed to making sure all students are taken care of and advocates for so many of our kids. Many of our CMS families that are new to the country have praised his heart for helping our kids, and around the Conway community. CMS is able to bridge the language gap, better serve our families, and is a more inclusive school because of his presence. CPSD is so thankful for the work you are doing Mr. Davila! 🏆April Champion Student of the Month Karl Johnson, Jr.🏆 Our CPSD Champion Student for the Month of April is Karl Johnson, Jr., a Freshman at Conway Junior High School! Karl was recognized at our April School Board meeting last night for being an all around Champion student! Principal Preston Echols of Conway Junior High stated that KJ is a stand out individual. 🌟Conway Junior High School’s Ms. Martha Reynolds was presented with the Wampus Cat Pride Award at our School Board Meeting last night for being the 2023 Arkansas Foreign Language Teacher of the Year & a 2024 Central States Teacher of the Year Regional Finalist. 🌟 CJHS Principal Preston Echols stated that Ms. Reynolds is a prized possession here in our school district and how she is a phenomenal teacher. Our student of the month also bragged on Ms. Reynolds and that she is his favorite teacher! Ms. Reynolds took the time during the meeting to highlight the World Language program and how it is on the rise. There are so many great things happening for our students and we thank Ms. Reynolds for being a #ChampionsForKids! 🏆💙

🌟 Today, as the Solar Eclipse graces our skies, we're thrilled to share the excitement that's been building up in our town! Last week, in collaboration with UCA, Carolyn Lewis Elementary had the pleasure of hosting Morton Brown, a former UCA student and Arkansas native, who also happens to be the Artistic Director for the city of Philadelphia. Morton brought to life LUNA, a magnificent 25’ Solar Eclipse superhero sculpture, right here in our beloved town, in anticipation of today's COSMIC event! You may know of some of Mr. Brown's work as he has done murals in downtown Conway! 🌞 Huge thanks to Mr. Morton and UCA for their incredible efforts and the captivating presentation they shared with us! Not only did Mr. Morton gift Carolyn Lewis Elementary with a special drawing, but a group of our students also had the amazing opportunity to create Birthday Capes! Each student received a personalized chart depicting the sky on their exact birthdate. They meticulously plotted stars from the chart onto graph paper, then sewed them onto capes, forming unique constellations representing their birthdays. ✨ Today, LUNA takes center stage at the UCA Solar Eclipse event, marking this momentous occasion in the most spectacular way possible. 🌒 #solareclipse2024 #ChampionsForKids
