🎉 Huge Congratulations to Mrs. Chen’s Chinese III Students! 🎉

We are thrilled to celebrate the outstanding achievements of all 13 Chinese III students who passed the HSK Chinese Proficiency Test with exceptional results! The HSK (Hànyǔ Shuǐpíng Kǎoshì) is an internationally recognized standardized test of Chinese language proficiency, and this entire group demonstrated remarkable dedication, earning a 100% passing rate.

✨ Special Highlights:
• Four students scored an impressive 90% or above.
• A huge shout-out to Madison Johnson, our amazing junior, who achieved a perfect 100% score! As a non-heritage speaker, this accomplishment is truly extraordinary. 🌟

These students are now on track to apply for the Arkansas Seal of Biliteracy this spring, reflecting their hard work, perseverance, and growing global competence.

To celebrate this milestone, Mrs. Chen hosted a joyful celebration featuring boba tea, donuts, and Pocky. Special thanks to Boba Love and Shimmery Donuts for generously donating delicious treats. 🧋🍩

We are incredibly proud of our students and our Chinese program. Hard work and perseverance truly pay off! 👏🎊

🌎🍽️ Spanish IV students explored culture, cuisine, and connection!

Sabores de la Cultura | Flavors of Culture: Students learned vocabulary around food and discovered how dishes like Rosca de Reyes and panettone play an important role in cultural celebrations.

Recetas Auténticas | Authentic Recipes: From researching traditional Hispanic recipes to measuring ingredients and cooking, students prepared arepas, baked bread, and horchata, practicing language skills while experiencing authentic cultural traditions.

Conectando Culturas | Connecting Cultures: The unit culminated in a Zoom exchange with students from Montemayor School in Zipaquira, Colombia, where our students practiced Spanish and their peers practiced English, sharing perspectives on nutrition, celebrations, and the role of food in daily life.

A meaningful journey connecting language, culture, and real-world experiences! 🌟

Mrs. Tillery-Harris’ EMT students recently had the incredible opportunity to visit the MEMS Communication and Dispatch Center and get a behind-the-scenes look at how emergency response begins. 🚑

During their visit, students learned firsthand about the critical role dispatchers and communication specialists play in coordinating emergency services and supporting first responders in the field. 📞🎧

From managing emergency calls to directing resources, these professionals are the calm voices and quick thinkers that help keep our community safe. Our students left with a deeper understanding of how teamwork, communication, and quick decision-making keep the EMS system running smoothly and efficiently. 👩‍⚕️🚨

Thank you to the MEMS team for welcoming our students and giving them such a valuable real-world learning experience! 🙌

📚 English 12 students are bringing book club to the classroom!

Students in Ms. Wood and Mrs. Knapp’s classes are currently diving into Literature Circles, where reading becomes a shared experience. Recently, classes participated in speed discussions, rotating through conversations with classmates to talk about characters, conflicts, and universal themes from their novels.

The best part? Several students left the discussions excited to jump back into their books and keep reading! When great stories spark great conversations, learning really comes to life. ✨📖

Ms. Dunn’s class wrapped up Black History Month with an inspiring project that combined research, creativity, and real-world problem solving! 🖤

Students first researched influential African Americans and explored the 5 W’s of their impact. They also learned about African American inventors whose ideas still shape the world today.

Inspired by these innovators, students then created their own solutions to real-world problems. Ideas included an AI hairbrush to recommend hair care products, translation glasses to help people communicate across languages, and a hotel-style housing program that would provide shelter, job training, and counseling for people experiencing homelessness.

Students also tackled issues like climate change, world hunger, water quality, school safety, traffic solutions, and even disease detection.

We’re proud of the creativity, innovation, and thoughtful problem-solving from Ms. Dunn’s class! 💡

🏆 Big honors for our Wampus Cats!

The Conway High School Beta Club has been named a 2025–2026 recipient of the John W. Harris Leadership Award — one of the highest recognitions in National Beta.

Named after Beta’s founder, John W. Harris, this award celebrates clubs that truly live out Beta’s four pillars: achievement, character, leadership, and service. Out of clubs across the nation, only five Senior Beta clubs were selected for this prestigious honor — and Conway High School is one of them!

Our club was nominated through a competitive application process and selected by the Alumni Review Committee for the impact our students are making both in school and throughout the community.

As part of the award, our Beta Club will be able to send 10 members to a Regional Leadership Summit, where they will collaborate with students from across the country and continue growing their leadership skills.

We are incredibly proud of these students and their commitment to serving others and leading by example. 💙

Congratulations to the Conway High School Mock Trial team for winning the 2026 Arkansas High School Mock Trial State Tournament!!! The tournament, sponsored by the Arkansas Bar Association, was held February 27-28, 2026, in Little Rock at the Richard Sheppard Arnold United States Courthouse. Mock trial is an academic and competitive simulation of a trial-level court proceeding, where students act as attorneys and witnesses to argue a fictional criminal or civil case. Teams analyze a provided case packet, develop legal theories, and follow simplified rules of evidence to compete in courtrooms.Twenty-one teams from across Arkansas gathered to try the civil case of Justice Miller v. Jace Talent Agency.

The team competed in four preliminary rounds against Parkview, Bentonville West, Des Arc, and then the final round against Little Rock Central High School. Conway was the only team to go undefeated, with no dropped ballots. The team also earned Star Attorney & Star Witness awards. Out of over 100 attorneys, the tournament awards the top 7 attorneys in the 4 prelim rounds. Katharine Welky and Addison Choate were named Star Attorneys. This is the 2nd year for Addison Choate to be named a Star Attorney. The tournament awards the top 5 witnesses, and Annabel Champlin and Naomi Brooks brought home 2 of the Star Witness Awards.

The CHS team will be the team to represent Arkansas at the National High School Mock Trial Championships in May. They will travel to Des Moines, IA, to compete against the top team from each state, along with South Korea, Guam, and Northern Mariana Islands.

All members of the CHS Mock Trial Team are members of the CHS Speech & Debate Team and are coached by Mrs. Casey Griffith. The team is also coached by volunteer attorney coach, Mr. Matt Brown.

🎨✨ Student Spotlight: Pinocchio Through a New Lens ✨🎨

Our class dove deep into motifs, metaphors, and symbolism using Disney’s Pinocchio as a practice run for their Lit Circle unit. The culminating activity, “The Picture with a Thousand Words,” had students transform their analysis into interactive art pieces—full of color, craft, and creativity!

These works don’t just reflect the story—they connect to the psychology of the Hero’s Journey and our discussions throughout the year. The students knocked it out of the park, and we’re so proud to showcase their talent! 🌟
