Our Organic Chemistry students had an exciting day at UCA! 🔬✨
They completed a steam distillation of cinnamon to isolate cinnamaldehyde, the compound that gives cinnamon its warm, familiar aroma. Afterward, Dr. Singleton helped analyze their results using IR and NMR spectroscopy to see if they successfully produced the real thing. 👩‍🔬📊

In the afternoon, ACS brought the fun with hands-on science demos, including carbon-dioxide bubble making that filled the room with smiles and suds. 🫧😄

Science days are the best days! 🌟🧪

🎄📚 The CHS Spanish Honorary Society spent the day at Ellen Smith Elementary sharing bilingual holiday stories!

Our elementary Spanish-speaking students felt seen and celebrated, and non-Spanish-speaking students got to experience the beauty of a new language. 💬✨

Our CHS bilingual readers shined as they practiced their Spanish and connected with younger students who share their language and culture. ❤️

A wonderful day of reading, learning, and building community across campuses! 🌟

✨ Our Spanish 4 and AP Spanish students visited the University of Central Arkansas for a campus tour completely in Spanish! 🇪🇸🎓
Our guides were bilingual UCA students who shared information about campus life, programs, and traditions. Students practiced real-world Spanish and explored UCA as a future college option. 🌟
It was raining 🌧️, but that didn’t stop us—we toured the campus under umbrellas ☂️ and made the most of our day!
We had an amazing time, learned so much, and loved seeing our students use their language skills outside the classroom! 💜📚
