🔹 CTE in Action! 🔹
February is CTE Month, and we’re celebrating the real-world impact of our Pre-Educator course! 💡📚
Students Emily Songer and Veronica Vera-Gomez took their skills beyond the classroom by designing a board game review for Mrs. Tinsley’s Algebra 3 classes. Their game, Shifty Transformers, helped students prepare for their Unit 4 test on Quadratic Functions—making transformations of parabolas both engaging and competitive! 🎲✨
This hands-on experience is what Career & Technical Education is all about—turning knowledge into action and preparing students for future careers. Because of CTE connections, future educators are gaining practical experience today!

🌟 Black History Spotlight🌟
With 30 years of teaching experience, Mr. William Richardson has made an indelible mark on Conway High School and the community. Initially planning to pursue law, Mr. Richardson was inspired by his mother’s advice and mentors like Mr. Robert Wills and Mr. James Branch to enter education.
His journey wasn’t always easy, especially early in his career when he faced the challenge of teaching students at various academic levels. However, with guidance and determination, Mr. Richardson has not only persevered but thrived, earning numerous accolades along the way, including Teacher of the Year at CHS (2017-2018) and recognition as Arkansas History Day Teacher of Merit (2008).
Mr. Richardson’s classroom moments have shaped generations of students, including explaining the tragic events of September 11, 2001, and taking students to the White House and U.S. Congress—experiences that cemented his lasting impact on his students.
Beyond the classroom, Mr. Richardson is deeply committed to preserving history, serving as the historian for the Pope County Historical Association and contributing to local historical preservation efforts.
What continues to drive Mr. Richardson? The words of his former students—who, despite not initially enjoying history, told him how much they appreciated his class—and seeing those students succeed in their careers and lives beyond high school.
His message to students: “Don’t take your educational opportunity for granted. Education is the most powerful weapon to change the world.” 🌍💡
Thank you, Mr. Richardson, for your unwavering dedication to your students, your love for history, and the change you’ve inspired in the lives you’ve touched. #BlackHistoryMonth #EducationMatters #CHSeducators #InspiringChange

✨ Black History Spotlight ✨
With 30 years in education, Ms. Anita Cegers-Coleman’s love for learning began in childhood, inspired by a family of educators and a passion for school that never faded. Her mother’s story of a caring teacher who made a lasting impact sparked her own desire to inspire generations of students.
Ms. Cegers-Coleman proudly carries on her family’s legacy of education, following in the footsteps of her greatest mentor—her mother, Linda Cegers, a dedicated teacher of 43 years.
Her career highlights include:
📚 National Board Certified Teacher (2010)
🏫 Conway District Teacher of the Year (2016)
🏅 State Teacher of the Year Regional Finalist
One moment she holds close to her heart is being honored alongside Alicia Cox at the 2019 Dig Pink event, celebrating their strength as breast cancer survivors, surrounded by a supportive school and community.
Her guiding lesson to every student? 💛 Even though we’re human, and sometimes things don’t go the way we’d like—always choose kindness. Or, as Paddington would say, “It doesn’t cost me anything to be kind.”
