📢 Interim Testing Next Week

ATLAS Interim Testing will take place Monday, February 2 – Thursday, February 5. Please help students come prepared and ready to do their best each day!

✅ Testing Dates:

Monday, Feb. 2 – Writing Test
Tuesday, Feb. 3 – Reading Test
Wednesday, Feb. 4 – Math Test
Thursday, Feb. 5 – Science Test

🎯 Testing Expectations:
Students should use their time, use their resources, and be respectful of others during testing.

Students who meet these expectations will be able to participate in our Testing Incentives on Friday, February 6, which include Kona Ice and a special opportunity to see Frozen Jr. performed by our theater club!

Parents — be on the lookout for a musical permission slip coming home at the beginning of the week.

Conway Schools and offices will be closed Friday, January 30th, 2026.

While the warmer temperatures over the past two days have helped improve some conditions, travel throughout the district including access to side streets, driveways, and neighborhoods continues to be impacted.

Our crews are continuing to work diligently to clear each of our campuses and are preparing for a safe return to school soon.

We appreciate your patience and understanding as we prioritize safety and continue to monitor conditions.

Conway Schools and offices will be closed Thursday, January 29th, 2026, due to icy road conditions throughout the district. 

We continue to monitor conditions closely as crews work to address sidewalks, parking areas, and campus access. Many bus routes, particularly rural routes, remain impacted, and overnight low temperatures will continue to delay a safe return.

The decision to close is based on ensuring the safety of our students, staff, and families. We will communicate any additional closures or delays as conditions evolve.

Mrs. Powers | 5th Grade Reading | Jigsaw Reading w/ Case Studies

Jigsaw is a cooperative learning strategy that supports high levels of engagement in that it segments a broader text into smaller sections for students to analyze and share out with the larger group.

We divided, read, and annotated the text “Exploring the Wild West” by subheading. Student teams had fun making the case as to why their section was most relevant to the topic.

Super Student question: Which challenge that the pioneers faced did your team argue was the most relevant?

Weather Update: Monitoring Conditions for Friday

Good evening Conway Public Schools,

We are continuing to closely monitor the incoming weather system and will evaluate updated conditions tomorrow morning as forecasts continue to change.

If weather conditions warrant, we may pivot to a two-hour early release on Friday to ensure the safety of our students, staff and families. Should that occur, the following dismissal times would apply:

• Elementary Schools: 1:15 p.m.

• Secondary Schools (Middle Schools, CJHS, & CHS): 1:30 p.m.

If an early release is implemented, end-of-day dismissal procedures would remain normal, buses would run their regular routes, and all after-school activities and programs would be canceled.

We will communicate any decision as soon as it is made. Please continue to monitor your email, phone messages, and district communication channels for updates. If no additional communication is issued, schools will follow their regular dismissal schedules.

Our team will continue monitoring the weather throughout the weekend and will provide updates regarding any additional school closings or delays as needed.
