Weather Update: Monitoring Conditions for Friday
Good evening Conway Public Schools,
We are continuing to closely monitor the incoming weather system and will evaluate updated conditions tomorrow morning as forecasts continue to change.
If weather conditions warrant, we may pivot to a two-hour early release on Friday to ensure the safety of our students, staff and families. Should that occur, the following dismissal times would apply:
Elementary Schools: 1:15 p.m.
Secondary Schools (Middle Schools, CJHS, & CHS): 1:30 p.m.
If an early release is implemented, end-of-day dismissal procedures would remain normal, buses would run their regular routes, and all after-school activities and programs would be canceled.
We will communicate any decision as soon as it is made. Please continue to monitor your email, phone messages, and district communication channels for updates. If no additional communication is issued, schools will follow their regular dismissal schedules.
Our team will continue monitoring the weather throughout the weekend and will provide updates regarding any additional school closings or delays as needed.
Thank you for your patience and understanding as we prioritize safety. Please stay safe and warm.
Sincerely,
Conway Public Schools

Smiles, style, and a whole lot of great hats!

Using a Play-Doh mat to create construction safety hats, students strengthened their fine motor skills while having fun. They counted and sorted cars to build early math skills like number recognition and one-to-one correspondence, and explored letter shapes while continuing to develop those little hand muscles.
So much learning packed into playful moments! 💛✨

We played in oobleck, explored some very “smelly” bottles 🤭, and used all five senses to investigate an orange 🍊
Messy hands, curious minds, and lots of learning! 💛

Planning, building, creating, and exploring concepts like structure, letters, and patterns—our students are learning through hands-on discovery. With trial and error, they carefully place each block to see what makes their towers topple or stand strong. So much thinking, creativity, and fun! 💕

We constructed cube machines and built sentences, combining creativity, problem-solving, and early literacy all in one fun-filled space. Hands-on learning and proud smiles everywhere! 💕📚

Check out our January 2026 School Board Meeting Recap! https://conwaypublicschools.edurooms.com/engage/conway-public-schools/newsletters/january-2026-school-board-meeting-recap

Our students have been busy sorting animals and counting objects, building early math skills while exploring.

Our Right Brain students have been busy designing and measuring ramps, stacking towers of cups to find the perfect balance, and creating fun shape windows to peek through. Curious minds, busy hands, and lots of learning happening along the way! 🧠🎨🧱

🎅🥕 Learning About Healthy Choices! 🥦🍎
We talked about making healthy food choices! Using a template from our book, each group worked together to plan a healthy dinner for Santa—before he eats all those cookies 🍪😉. The kids had so much fun collaborating and thinking about foods that help keep Santa strong and energized!

Our students have been busy learning how to pour! Through hands-on practice, they’re strengthening fine motor skills, coordination, and independence—one careful pour at a time 💪🧠. We love watching their confidence grow as they focus, try, and succeed. Great job, little learners! 💙

One group created an adorable giraffe collage 🦒🎨, paying attention to visual details, while the other group practiced putting pieces in order from largest to smallest 📏🔽.
Both activities helped build visual differentiation, size comparison, and early sequencing skills! 🌟🧩

❄️ Winter Break Reminder (Dec 22–Jan 2)
All CPSD schools and offices will be closed for Winter Break December 22–January 2.
We’ll see you back on Monday, January 5, 2026! Stay warm and enjoy the holidays! ⛄🎁

Our preschoolers have been busy learning all about pets!
We kicked off the week by reading Charlotte and The Rock, a fun story that sparked lots of imagination and giggles. After reading, we asked our students what they thought it would be like to have a pet rock of their own. They shared what their rock might need, how they would care for it, and what kind of pet it could be.
Then the creativity began! Each child painted their very own pet rock, gave it a special name, and proudly told us how they plan to take care of it once it comes home.
We loved seeing their creativity, responsibility, and big imaginations shine! 🪨💛

Using a variety of art materials, they planned, constructed, and problem-solved to bring their creations to life. It was amazing to see their logical thinking and creativity work hand-in-hand! 🧠🔧📐
