Student Leader Drum Majors Keri Brewington and Todd Butler were also recognized for their leadership and dedication to the Wampus Cat Band!
Band Director Nikki Cook was recognized for her recent “Director Who Makes a Difference” award. This award is given by the School Band and Orchestra Magazine who names one director from each state every year! We are honored for Ms. Cook to not only represent CPSD but to represent the entire state of Arkansas! Way to go!!

🏆Nabholz made our School Board Meeting last night very special. They presented their Associated Builders and Contractors of Arkansas Award of Excellence to CPSD for their Renovation and Restoration on Sallie Cone Pre-K. We are proud of the work that Nabholz has done for CPSD and it was an honor that they passed their award to the district!
CPSD would also like to thank Nabholz for cooking and providing dinner last night for our School Board members!
This is a great example of community and CPSD is very fortunate to have this support!

CPSD December 2023 School Board Meeting Recap



🚙 Stop #7 of the Conway School Board's "CPSD Road Trip" recently took place at Theodore Jones Elementary School. School Board Members and District leaders were warmly greeted by the 4th-grade Jaguar Leaders. These exceptional students led the entire presentation, highlighting all the wonderful things happening at TJE. The TJE Choir, under the guidance of Ms. Johnson, did a remarkable job of immersing us in the holiday spirit.
The Pinnacle Program, led by Ms. Story, showcased their highly impressive Macy’s Day Parade Robots, with floats zooming around on their own. Additionally, they presented their cardboard Putt Putt courses and demonstrated the level of difficulty they had incorporated into them. The hard work of these students was truly showcased during this part of the presentation.
Ms. Lakey, TJE Instructional Facilitator, hosted a session of FUN & LEARNING, where students engaged in learning games with the School Board members and District Leaders. The excitement in the room was contagious, and the students were both having fun and learning.
A noteworthy highlight was the Staff Spotlight, where Principal Carise Echols recognized Ms. Massery for her thoughtfulness and going above and beyond to provide a care cart for students, offering access to everyday care items if needed.
Our District Leaders experienced a delightful surprise with the special guest appearance of THE TJE JAGUAR! School Board Members were honored with STUDENT-MADE Trophies, symbolizing their role as #ChampionsForKids. Special thanks to Principal Carise Echols and Assistant Principal Heath Dow for delivering an exceptional presentation of your campus!









Thank you Conway Fire Department for spending the last 2 days teaching our high school students CPR. At the end of the training day today, over 100 students were certified in CPR. That is an impressive number and this is an amazing opportunity for our students and our District!! Shout out to our very own Sgt. Webb and Col. Shelby for making this happen! #ChampionsForKids

On Wednesday, December 6, Courtway Middle School hosted a thrilling chess tournament, bringing together the strategic minds of all four Conway middle schools that included a total number of 72 students. Kudos to all the young chess enthusiasts who showcased their skills and sportsmanship. Checkmate, camaraderie, and great memories were made!

🌟Allison Bowsman - CPSD School Psychology Specialists - is a Core Value Champion for the Month of November!🏆
Ms. Bowsman thrives on helping teachers help students. She has dropped everything on a moment's notice and gone to help a teacher problem solve on difficult behaviors so a child could succeed. She has spent multiple hours and gobs of her own money putting resources in place that help teachers provide kids with the tools they need. She is a CORE VALUE CHAMPION every single day!

Mrs. Spradlin has stepped into the role of the face of CHS since the passing of Mrs. Bartholomew and Mrs. Kelley. She arrives at work early and stays late. She answers the phone and greets students and parents with a smile. She is kind and genuine and treats everyone who comes into the office with grace and dignity. She is constantly looking for ways to make our systems and processes smoother. She is a problem solver and always willing to do more than her part. We could not have made it without her this school year. She is a light for CHS and a true champion!

🚙 The 6th stop on the Conway School Board's "CPSD Road Trip" recently took place at Bob Courtway Middle School, where School Board Members and District leaders were warmly welcomed by exceptional students! Amidst the festivities, Board Member Jason Sandefer and Director of Safety Eric King joined students in some recess fun, showcasing their jump roping skills. Adding to the joy, Choir Teacher Ms. Shaw presented the incredible 7th-grade choir, whose enchanting performance immersed everyone in the holiday spirit. Notably, 7th Grade student Kemper shared her positive experience with the Courtway Choir, highlighting her outstanding leadership!
During the presentation, Ms. Smith delved into Courtway’s WIN (What I Need) Time, featuring a video showcasing students expressing how this personalized approach benefits them. Students shared sentiments like, "Every week looks different, but every week I get exactly what I need. When I receive what I need… I win! And I like to Win! When I Win, We all Win! We are Champions!"
Principal David Yates concluded the event by highlighting the positive happenings at Courtway Middle School, offering words of encouragement, and praising the exceptional efforts of the staff. Special mention was made of their culinary skills that contributed to a delightful Thanksgiving feast! It was truly a fantastic day at Courtway, and CPSD takes pride in the ongoing determination and hard work evident each day! #ChampionsForKids
